What is the best Heavy Weapon to use in general in Mass Effect 2? The Cain nuke launcher is pretty funny, but it's not worth using because of how much ammo it requires. In general, I use the Collector Particle Beam or the Grenade launcher. I find the Avalanche and Missile Launcher to not be as effective.

The Collector Particle Beam has many advantages over other heavy weapons:
It also has a +50% bonus against both armor and shields.
The main downside is you're out in the open while firing, but most of the time I feel the advantages outweigh the risks.

My two favorites are the Collector Particle Beam and the Arc Projector.
ZoogieZork has a good answer about why the Particle Beam is good, so I'll restrict myself to the Arc Projector.
ByGuides Writer Got a news tip?Is there something you think we should be reporting on? Email.A brand new game in the Five Nights at Freddy’s series has just been released. Ultimate Custom Night is a greatest hits game of sorts, allowing players to pull from a 50-strong cast of characters, and customize the classic horror formula that the series is known for.FNAF Ultimate Custom Night is available now to download from Steam, and it’s completely free. This leads to a huge amount of customization.
I love it, it's a lot of fun to use. Occasionally, you'll even hit enemies you weren't expecting to. (Yay, free damage!)

I found myself using the Collector Particle Beam most of the time on my Sentinel, but on my Infiltrator I mostly used the Singularity Gun (which I think came as a preorder bonus). It was great for the Infiltrator because I could pop my invis and sit through (most of) the charge up time without drawing fire, then fire that big beautiful ball of destruction and sit in cover waiting for it to explode and kill everything.
Download family fued game. It could get tricky to aim sometimes though. Generally speaking the Collector Particle Beam is probably the best, its only real draw back is having to stay out in the open while firing it (which was hard on the Infiltrator).

Personally, my favorite is the anti-material cannon (sniper rifle); but then, I've always been a fan of the sniping style, and that thing can take out almost anything in one shot!

I'm agreeing with the majority and going with the Collector Beam, for all the reasons ZoogieZork listed. It's very powerful against shields, armour AND health (not many weapons are), whereas every other heavy weapon I used had something or other that made it slow/unwieldy/difficult to use. I'd say its biggest (only?) problem is that you can only hit one target at a time.

Where To Find Mass Effect 2 Weapons
I really like the singularity. Taking out 3 or 4 baddies at once was great. I just used it in certain situations. I miss it in me3.

Weapon DPS Charts (UPDATED for 1.06)Apr 16, 2017 14:05:44 GMTSalMasRac, fromthealps, and 103 more like this
Post by hardcoresalmon on Apr 16, 2017 14:05:44 GMTMass Effect 2 Best Weapons In The Game
EDIT: Updated for Patch 1.06/7
I decided to remove the tables and just have charts because they are way too time consuming to fill out in posts when there is no way to directly copy data. These charts show potential DPS and don't account for accuracy, classes used, headshots, rarity, weight and level. So this data presumes that all bullets will hit so in game results will vary. Here I've made a comparison between patch 1.05 and patch 1.06 DPS to show how significant the buffs were, all weapons are X with magazine and barrel if they can be equipped. These charts aren't perfect and are just to show a general DPS level of weapons. Here's an example of my formula, the Avenger for example: Damage with barrel: 60.50, Magazine with mod: 45, reload speed: 1.5 seconds, ROF: 5.25 Seconds per magazine: 45 / 5.25 = 8.57 Amount of reloads in 20s - seconds / (seconds per mag + reload time): 20/(8.57/1.5) = 1.9 Seconds reloading: 1.9 * 1.5 = 2.98 Seconds shooting: 20 - 2.98 = 17.02 Shots per second (different than ROF for single shot/burst fire): 5.25 Shots per 20 seconds: 17.02 * 5.25 = 89.36 Damage per shot: 60.5 Damage over 1s: 5.75 * 60.5 = 317.63 Damage over 20s: 96.5 * 60.5 = 5406.38 (The formula gets a lot more complicated when weapons are single shot because it requires a lot of IF statements) Patch 1.05: Post Patch 1.06/7: Direct Comparison: Notes: - Soned had 0.5 reloads per 20 seconds before and was counting that in formula, it's now 0 so has a higher dps - I overestimated the hornet's shots per second, it's only slightly lower - I added the charged venom and lanat, the venom will do a lot of damage if every explosive will hit but they don't.. - I added the shadow's calculated numbers, it will only do decent damage without any class buffs. The shadow will do more damage the more you shoot, up to 50%. Comments are closed.
